FINANCIAL CONTROLLER

Purpose:

This position will serve to perform all higher level accounting duties, as well as manage a growing support staff and their departmental accounting functions, for Community Based Care agencies located in and around Florida, and support all other related corporate finance functions.

Location:

At present, this position will need to be able to work remotely, so location is variable within the state. This position must have the discipline and organization to be able to work remotely with minimal oversight (after training) and exhibit superior time management skills. Occasional travel may be required, mostly within Florida.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for all general ledger activity and reconciliations

Creation and review of various financial statements for accuracy

Oversee analysis select accounts for the annual external audit

Preparation of month-end closing reports and documentation

Assist in preparing any requested presentations for internal or external review

Reconciliation of complex accounts with numerous transactions.

Oversee annual budgeting for the region

Various special projects as needed

Identify and oversee training and staff development within the department

Other related duties as necessary or assigned

Requirements:

Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet deadlines

Ability to work independently with a high degree of accuracy

Team player

Minimum Education and Experience:

Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business

10+ years of experience with general accounting functions

5+ years at a managerial level in the accounting field

Very strong spreadsheet skills (Excel)

Superior account reconciliation skills

Experience in the health care industry highly preferred

CPA candidate preferred

Great Plains experience preferred
